The public housing there has always had issues. Every few days or weeks at most, there are "shots fired" reported.

So it's ok?

It's the "so it's ok" person again. Which part EXACTLY did the poster say this was ok? I'm very sad because your reading comprehension is so poor.

Simple solution is don't go to Bradlee. If you go through campaign filings or just went into these businesses a lot of these businesses supported the current council members with meeting space, free food, signage and support. They are getting what they supported and voted for - a mayor who says he wasn't aware of the problems the Bradlee businesses are having with the violence.

This is a very interesting point.

It's also a good reason to avoid some of the restaurants in DelRay. The owners of Pork Barrel, Holy Cow etc. are big supporters of Wilson. It's all there in the filings over the years. Pork Barrel has some of the worst barbecue anyway.

I now avoid going to Bradlee at almost all costs, it's a total parking lot nightmare besides the violence problem. It's a shame because the post office there has the nicest employees above and beyond any other one in Alexandria. Otherwise, no.

I don't go there, I heard about it on the police radio.

This is very interesting to me. They supported this? And here I was feeling sorry for the businesses their. Now I won't.

There are a lot of people who say on this thread "YOU VOTED FOR THIS." I personally didn't and many other people DIDN'T "vote for this" so what pray-tell are we supposed to do? Other than moving out of the city ASAP (with the current massive lack of housing everywhere) there is nothing any of us can do but walk away. Spouting that lame "you voted for this" is NOT helpful for those WHO didn't "VOTE FOR THIS."

Love how not a single council member could be bothered to show up for the photo up there a few days ago. They are all staying far away from all the events that happened this week.

I lived three blocks away from that corner for 14 years and never once heard or saw any shots fired. It wasn't that common.

I work 2-3 blocks from that corner and heard the shots fired Tuesday. I drive home down though this intersection and missed today’s shots fired by maybe 10-15 minutes. It seems common now.
