Situation is not unique. My kid, 4.5, 1560 unhooked male from another FCPS HS was waitlisted at UVA. Didn't bother applying to Tech. Heading to an OOS public to study CS.

While having a good GPA is great, it's essential to know that you'll be competing against many other students with similar academic achievements.
