MoCo's model is to attract homeless people thru generous programs, all at the expense of the declining number of taxpayers in MoCo.

Mentally healthy people don’t unroll a sleeping bag on a downtown street because they couldn’t make rent that month.

Also basically everything y’all are describing is unconstitutional (for now). You are talking about things that would be widely condemned. Criminalizing smoking and sleeping on the sidewalk? Punishing these things with deportation out of the city or forced acceptance of services would simply never happen because it’d get shut down by constitutional challenges immediately.

You don’t know anything about this issue, clearly. You also will get almost no one to staff your concentration camp reservations. Social services work is grueling and has high burnout rates. Working in an institutional setting is even harder. I doubt you’d do it yourself, so maybe consider staying out of complicated issues you don’t understand.

They aren't children or prisoners. Many homeless (and adults in general) do not want others telling them what to do and where to go. Many are not looking for services or housing. They prefer to exist day to day.

That's on DC for letting them destroy our public spaces. That should no longer be a choice. It's also not really compassionate of society to just let someone "choose" to live on the streets and do drugs until they OD.

I realize your whole plan here is trolling, but you're wrong about this, too. 61 percent of the homeless people in D.C.'s "point in time" survey last year had not previously been involved with the criminal justice system or with mental health institutions: https://community-partnership.org/homelessness-in-dc/ And about half of them have income. A major reason people in D.C. "unroll a sleeping bag on a downtown street" is because they were victims of domestic violence and had to flee their homes. But sure, let's lock those people up if they won't agree to be shipped off to Kentucky or whatever.
