I was overdue with no signs of anything. I had a spicy Thai lunch then a looong walk then bounced on a yoga ball. About 3 minutes into bouncing I lost my mucous plug. 10 minutes later contractions started.

Glad I never saw a doc for either of my pregnancies. My midwives were terrific.

Most Virginia midwives cannot legally deliver beyond 41+6. Get your facts right

Have you asked to be induced or for a membrane sweep? A lot of doctors will give you an induction if you ask, just like if you request a c-section for no reason other than convenience. Otherwise, if you're already dikated you can ask for a membrane sweep.

Just like if one has a baby with a heartbeat at 70 bpm at 37 weeks, a physician won’t allow the pregnancy to continue and will perform a c section. Allowing this with no medical intervention would be negligent and you are an idiot.

Yes, do you want to be “allowed” to go to 50 weeks if your baby isn’t coming? What’s your limit? After the placenta gets old?

Yes, allow. That’s why they are doctors, for their training and education. Is that new to you? Some things are medically necessary and not going over 42 weeks is one of them.
Your midwives can be terrific and doctors are terrific too.

OBs would not allow you to go beyond week 42.

OP, your mother can change her flight easier than you needing to get induced.

Is it news to you that full term is 40 weeks? Sure, your baby can be born healthy at 37 weeks. However, 40 weeks is not late.
