Yep. I am towards the younger side of Gen X (born in 75) and several of my high school classmates have grandchildren.

My BIL and SIL met in their mid-30s and had trouble conceiving. They ultimately had to have their child by gestational carrier last year. They were 44 and 43. You should be careful about making such sweeping statements.
