It was a peaceful protest. It is allowed in our country, even if it makes you uncomfortable. The protestors may have been loud--but they were peaceful. They were not armed, so spare me your concern about the state troopers. The only armed protesters in state houses in recent times have been Republicans.

Also, these expulsions are rare. The last time the TN state legislature expelled lawmakers was in 1980 (soliciting a bribe) and 2016 (allegations of sexual misconduct while in office).
"Since then [the 1800s], the House of Representatives in Tennessee has voted only twice to oust a lawmaker. Both votes were bipartisan: in 1980, after a sitting lawmaker was convicted of soliciting a bribe, and in 2016, after the House majority whip faced allegations of sexual misconduct while in office."



What a complete joke. Had these protesters - interrupting a legislative session, no less - been conservatives, you'd be calling for their heads. Hypocrite, much?

Yeah. State House members being held accountable for their disruptive behavior that broke House rules. Actions have consequences.

Do not let the racism distract you. We all know the answer because 7 of them made it obvious but that is not the important part of this story. It is just chafe. The TN GOP disenfranchised 200,000 Tennesseans because their representatives had the audacity to disagree. The audacity to embarass. The audacity to listen to the people. The TN GOP chose power over democracy, blatantly violated their own constitution and spat on the flag of the United States of America.
