For the poster who wants to know how PTP is selected… I have it on good authority that the national tour auditions for summer intensives pulls folks in (not our own school’s training) and from there some people are selected for studio company and a fewer from studio company for company after a year contract. If you’re dancer has any kind of goals for dancing in college or professionally, I imagine that there’s a whole different trajectory outside of the recreational style classes offered at TWSB

Wow, this sucks. I have a DD who took a year off TWSB and re-auditioned for the SI and ended up a level higher. (with no ballet!!!) Make it make sense!!!


Its like they are actively trying to hold their kids back

Anyone else underwhelmed with parent observation? DD was a 3, skipped 4A and is in 4B and I was so very disappointed with the teacher and the quality of the class. Having serious reservations about next year

NP also curious about this, is it a completely separate track only for the top tier of younger kids or is it open to those who complete the main track?


Bumping this question on PTP B - how are kids enrolled or selected for this?

I am not the original poster about Seber but can say it is a different world than MYB and likely TWSB. The kids get much more focused attention; the classes are smaller; and the faculty genuinely care. We moved from MYB and DD loves dance again. And we have not been pressured to take privates. When I inquired about privates, the recommendation was either a few privates to work on specific technique, or an additional group class for a few months.

We're interested in this. Maybe one with smaller class sizes. My DD wants to study dance in college and feels as though she's been overlooked. Instructor comments are overwhelmingly positive about her, evaluations all give her high marks, but when it comes to castings she's clearly not in the "in" group that seem to always get chosen. So we're looking for other schools in the area that will help her prepare for her dream college choices and give her more performance opportunities outside of The Nutcracker. Please share!


This was us, left TWSB last year for Seber, and are MUCH happier. DD has progressed so much more in the last year


Question to the Seber poster: Is there much or any favoritism, or pressure to take private lessons to get sufficient attention? We’re facing this at my dancer’s current studio, and it’s just getting too much. No way I’m spending $10k on private lessons each year just so that my kid gets featured more prominently Any feedback on this would be appreciated. Thank you!

This is our issue in level 3. Daughter does not feel challenged and said she sent her personal gains are minimal. I think she’s used to a stricter regimen. I’m not sure what’s expected at this level. Because in work in Va, my sister dies drop off and husband picks up.

Does anybody have experience with the summer program? After attending other summer intensives I’m nervous about continuing (although this option breast fits our life right now.

Here's a word of encouragement.

I'm not a dance expert - just a supportive Dad. My daughter is at a higher level. She spent a summer at the Boston Ballet. TWSB prepared her well. There were dancers there from all over the country. The TWSB dancers seemed to do fine and held their own.
