He did have a career before Whittle, and a career since Whittle. He resigned from Whittle and gave up a million dollar package to not be part of what he saw happening. Certainly, he had accomplishments across his career that the search committee at Maret was impressed by and eclipsed his association with Whittle. The Board at Maret approved him. Give the dude a year or two, folks. See what he’s like before piling on all the hatred. You’re welcome.
Anyone who was dumb enough to take a one million dollar package from a KNOWN swindler is an idiot and does not deserve to run Maret. We are current parents and very dissatisfied with the board's decision.
As for the ridiculous conspiracy theories about former Whittle students getting in, the current HoS didn't want Dennis to take over- what makes you think she would want any Whittle students admitted? One of the dumbest rumors spread on this board ever.
Are you staying at Maret? We are an admitted family who, even with taking the anonymous fighting here with a HUGE grain of salt, has some qualms about entering a community with a new HOS and not knowing what may change. Wondering if families are voting with their feet or hoping it just isn't as bad as they fear. two days left to decide.....I was sort of hoping the incoming HOS would make the trip for last week's admitted families event.
I think it will take a lot more than just some uncertainty about what might change to get most families who are otherwise happy at Maret to leave.
Agree with this sentiment. Particularly when the outrage is exponentially more prevalent from an anonymous message board conspiracy theorist than anyone who actually has kids, teachers or is otherwise a stakeholder at the school.

There were three people charged in the Enron scandal. Four people in the Madoff scandal. One in the Stanford Capital scandal. Out of tens of thousands of employees.
I think Whittle is a narcissist, and fraudster and a bad human being. I don’t necessarily think he ran a particularly sophisticated scheme with lots of accomplices.
I don’t love the LIV Golf tour and taking tons of money from Saudi Arabia. That doesn’t make those who play criminals or bad golfers.
Anyway, you do you. If it makes you happy to go after Bisgaard, it’s totally fine with me. I don’t know the guy as he hasn’t started yet and I’ve never met him. What I know is that I’m thrilled with Maret, have confidence in their leadership and think my kids are getting a great education.
If you think it is a scandal, needs investigation or sunshine, get after it. My suggestion would be to refrain from hiding under the anonymity of a message board and take your keyboard warrior bravery to the open. Why hide? If you’re doing the lord’s work, you certain deserve credit.
You know I’m right. Even if you disagree no need to be quite such a jerk about it. Unless you are them.
You are unable to answer either of my questions
Make wild accusation. Ask unanswerable questions. Point to lack of answers as truth about wild accusations. Wash, rinse, repeat.

This is a classic ridicule tactic spin masters employ. Trump used it all the time. It’s pretty low brow stuff but it works.
I think, on the strength of the overwhelming evidence, that the HoS and his wife are at the very least morally questionable and have displayed poor judgment that is further easily clouded by self interest.
I also think that they are culpable. They were not employees, they were the equivalent to a CEO, CFO and the Board until and through the collapse. So I would not want them running an established institution like Maret nor to be role models for my children.
If I were parents I would start a petition to prevent them from taking up the position.

It’s simple: ONE. MILLION. DOLLARS.
Plus, aren’t there a few other thriving successful schools that Tom Whittle started?
Anyone doing even a moderate dive into reporting on Tom Whittle's business dealings would have pause.
Is Tom Whittle related to Chris?
