Thoughts? Isn’t this the exact opposite of 20-30 years ago?
Very, very, very, very few Mayflower/DAR eligible types are MAGA. They don't have to be.
MAGA is (mostly) for angry, lower middle class white men (not that there's anything wrong with any of those categorizations) who are convinced someone's "taking" something from them.
And that's exactly what the GOP has tapped into and promoted - that the "other" is responsible for their miserable lives.
Which is justified.
No. Fewer jobs do not benefit working class Americans.
Lets see. Dems favor stronger union rights, higher minimum wages, national health insurance, etc, all of which benefit working class Americans.

Anonymous wrote:The stereotypes and bigotry in this thread are quite something.
Imagine if someone has started a thread wondering if blacks who descended from slaves were more "fill in the blank" than blacks that immigrated.
It would be shut down in a hot second.

Now imagine asking it about some non white group
All the blacks, etc. in the DAR and on the Mayflower?
No, don’t be dense, I mean about the various cultural subcategories of blacks, Latinos, etc

People talk about that all the time -- Latinos growing more conservative, etc.
I’m talking about subcategories. There are, as I’m sure you know, many different groups called “Latino.” Different occupational patterns, countries of origin, recency of immigration, on and on.
Most people are smart enough to break away Cuban immigrants and their descendants because the experience is vastly different thanks the the Cuban adjustment act.
height of hypocrisy for Cubans to support a policy that curtails others claiming refugee status.
