I know, but my kids' school only posts important announcements there. I have an IG acct only to be able to access the school's feed because the site will not show anything to you if you're not logged in. Ugh.

I would just step past this. I think given that people are still trying to sort things out, it's probably too soon (and maybe a tad tacky) - but I also try and give people some grace with this sort of thing. It's been a fairly stressful few months for many of us in this process and it was probably nice for them to hear some good news. I am all about parents celebrating their kids typically. Hell, I hate bumper stickers and my kids have already told me that they expect me to put the stickers on the car once we have committed.

I teach in a school like the one the OP mentioned. It’s tacky, primarily because of the timing. People are still sorting out their plans or stressed because they’re waitlisted or waitlisted for financial aid. Gloat to grandparents. Stay off social while the dust is settling if you have good news and know others don’t. Why is this something people even have to explain to anyone?
