The Republicans who are advocating for this are just openly telling you their eventual goal, which is a Handsmaid-esque patriarchal dystopia. And yes, moderate Republicans like Collins are to blame, but it’s not like women have a safe home with the current Democrats either.
Susan Faludi described historical periods of progress for women as always followed by a sharp and immediate backlash. We are in that backlash.
You are the problem. Literally any of y’all who insist that both sides are equally bad WHEN THE GOP IS ADVOCATING THE DEATH PENALTY FOR MISCARRIAGES is the problem. Hi. It’s you. You’re the problem.
You believe the GOP will kill women who miscarry? Really????

This is such a good start.
And don’t give me what about rape and incest? Abortions only happen for less than 2% of all abortions. Most are done purely for the convenience of mom!
PP here. You cannot edit a post. What I, who is a woman, meant is that less than 2% of abortions are performed for rape and incest. Most people do not have an issue with that procedure for rape or incest or the health of the mother. Maybe women keep their legs closed if they don’t want to get pregnant or it would be an inconvenience.
So yes if the death penalty was on the table for anyone who has an abortion or performs one, maybe it would slow down the Millions performed yearly.
No one is forcing you to give birth.
I and my daughters believe this way!

Women who seek abortion in South Carolina could face death penalty
House Bill 3549 is an amendment to the South Carolina Prenatal Equal Protection Act of 2023 and would define "person" to include an unborn child at any stage of development. This would ensure that an unborn child who is a "victim of homicide" or "victim of assault" is given the same protections under state laws -- including, up to the death penalty.
Can this pass? A resounding yes. Can it be struck down not so sure?
Funny.
When I saw the thread's title I assumed it was about politicians pretending men can become women at will -- hence the end of Women's Rights.
But, no, let's talk about how to end the lives of female babies with impunity...how truly progressive of us.
Hi you forgot to mention the lives of former female babies (now girls and women) who do not wish to donate their bodies to gestate an unwanted pregnancy. Why is that?

2 percent is a lot. That is 1 in 50 procedures and when it is your loved one impregnated by a rapist it is everything.
What a woman does in thus situation or any other reproductive situation is none of your or your daughter's business. I would never tell your daughters what to do. That is incredibly disrespectful. And you and they most certainly will not be telling mine why they can and can not do.
