More time for party, wine and group parties with other adults!

I’m an introvert with sensory processing issues. Tbg the constant noise of kids is really tough. Sometimes I escape into a room by myself and put on headphones. When the kids were very little I’d escape into my car and put on a particular musician that calmed me down. I had a really tough time with toddler years but ever since then things have gotten much better.

I am actually more surprised how people with all kinds of issues are having kids. And then they complain how terrible life is.

Not sure if she is introverted but my former colleague who is young (25 or so?) with anxiety and a bunch of other issues married a very balanced and stable guy who I am sure will be stuck with the majority of childcare. Poor guy doesn’t know yet!

Im an introvert. decided to stop at one after being exhausted and overwhelmed. I hate small talk with other parents. My kid is really outgoing so I have to compromise and participate in things i don’t feel like doing.

Don't be complicated. Introverts, extroverts, ambiverts enjoys sex a lot and some others don't.

This world is overpopulated. We should just have 1 child per family

Reiterating that introversion does NOT equal anxiety, etc.

However, answering the question I think OP is asking - It helps to either have a partner who is not introverted (and understands/supports your periodic need for some alone time) or just have one child so that you and your partner can trade off having quiet time.

I think the physical demands are your body as a mom (especially if you breastfeed) and change in your ability to have free time (however you might spend it) are tough for extroverts too.

Because half the world is introverted. Introversion, like extroversion, is a NORMAL state of being. OP makes it seems as if introverts are somehow abnormal, or disabled, and specifically associates them with disabilities.

OP sounds like an introvert who is considering having kids, and is asking an honest question. Not everything is personal attack on you.

Actually, (1) OP sounds like a pot stirrer. And (2) the PP who is ranting about introversion being normal; you also need to check it. People with disabilities are also parents and *people worthy of respectful treatment*. Your overblown response to the idea of *gasp* being thought to have a disability is HIGHLY offensive, as well.
