But isn't their goal exactly that, to remove the teaching of dogma (ideology, race essentialism, etc.) from public schools? Maybe you don't recognize your own dogmas as dogmas.

I'm assuming that they dry up because you can't write a PhD thesis without engaging with theoretical concepts. Conservatives may say 'fine' but grad students teaching classes for cheap is part of what makes large universities with low tuition viable
