I have no idea how many strides or steps I take, but i know that if I walk at 4.5 mph on an incline of 10 for 5 miles, I get a good fat burning workout, a good sweat, and I can basically eat whatever I want and feel reasonably fit. I'm not going to beat myself up if I'm only walking 9253 steps because my legs are not the right length.
Agree, but for some people, random steps here and there are all they get, and it's better than being totally sedentary.
But all steps are not created equal. Running 6000 steps will be better and more effective than walking 10,000. Or Doing 3,000 steps of stairs are better than 6,000 of walking. Quality >>> quantity.
