He didn’t like Michael Jackson’s music — funnily enough, I found out a woman ended a date with my dad 30 years earlier for a similar reason!

Can you elaborate on this? Does he normally send out long emails to his friends? How did you find out?

It wasn’t a particularly long message and I knew because I was included on it. He genuinely thought it was a fun story to tell to our close group of friends.

And I might have been fine with it if he had, you know, just asked me first. It was not a huge secret or hugely embarrassing or anything, it was just that he sent it out to friends without asking me if that was okay with me. It was not really his story to share, it was mine and I was not yet ready to share that particular story.
