We once got a great deal and went for three nights. Flew from DC Thursday night, arrived early morning Friday, stayed Fri, Sat, Sun nights and flew back midday Monday. It would have been nicer to stay one more night but it was totally fine.

We are mid 40s, decent energy level, and aren’t bothered by coach if we can’t do business class.

Why can’t you do business class? Doesn’t seem worth it otherwise.

Why not PJ?

DCUM: where unless it’s business/first class for at least a month, going to Europe isn’t even worth it

You laugh, but honestly, even one month in Europe is really too short these days. Three months is a better prospect.

Is it? Some of us have lives we don’t want to abandon for 3 entire months.

For a mileage run, I would say 2 hours.

This, unless I just had to go for work and they were paying.

I did say that we always have a somewhat rough day the day of landing, early dinner, early bed, and we are fine by our first full non-travel day. (I realize people are different). I think we are leaning towards flying to Paris on a Thursday and flying back the following Tuesday.

You sound very similar to me, and I think this is more than do-able. I've done the same length, but to Ireland, and it was fabulous.

Aren’t there any daytime flights to Paris? Perhaps from NY/NJ (like the daytime flights to London). I’m too old for overnight flights, so schlepping up to NY for a direct daytime flight is worth it imho.

Three nights is probably the shortest I’d do these days.

There are no daytime flights from the US to Paris or any other city in Europe, other than to London.

You're absolutely right but, to be fair, OP only asked about Paris.

For that one month should do it.
