I think if you know what the person would have liked before their loss, or you addressed things to them before their loss, then continuing with that makes sense, and if you don't know and can't find out (e.g. does your mom or dad know?) then I'd go with Mrs. Lastname on the envelope. Obviously, inside it would be Aunt Larla.
But I'm still really puzzled by the fact that some people think you should write sympathy cards that don't remind people that they've lost someone. I don't have a clue how that would work.
