81 year old man dead, his 74 year old wife critically injured, and two others injured, including a fire department Captain.
“Information obtained during a preliminary investigation into the attack shows that the SAPD responded to a prior incident relating to the dogs in November.
During a visit to the property by SAPD officials, the property's owner was told that the dogs needed to stay inside the property. At least two of the dogs were also involved in a pair of confirmed bite cases in January and September 2021.”
I guess in San Antonio, dogs don’t get euthanized for biting people until they kill someone.

I took my kids to the animal shelter recently to drop off some blankets and literally ALL the dogs there were pits or pit mixes and they were so loud and aggressive. My kids didn't want to go into the dog room, they were so scared.

"Officers responded to a home in the 5500 block of Sheraton Oaks Drive around 4 p.m. to find the victim on the ground being chewed on by one of the dogs". One of the dogs attacked one of the police offices and was shot. Yeah another sweet misunderstood creature.

But then I remembered that 10 years ago, my best-dog-ever Lab mix (since deceased, but not because of this) was attacked by a pit. The pitbull grabbed his neck in his mouth and shook him over and over. I was frantic. The pits' owner, a very strong, large man, used lots of force to try to get him off my dog. We had the idea to throw water up at the pits' face, so I ran to get a pitcher of water.
It worked. Pit had to release so he could breathe. Dogs got separated, and my dog was hurt and sore but not requiring emergency care. The pit owners seemed like decent people, and I would have followed up with them, but they moved away days later!
Pitbull owners be like "It's how you treat the dog! No dogs are bad!" But pits are stronger in the jaw and can be/might have been bred to be aggressive. I don't feel comfortable with pits I don't know well.

I am sure she would have sworn up and down her dog would never. Tragic … let this be a warning to anyone who keeps these dogs in their home, especially with young children.

Since January 1st, there have been 4 children killed, 5 adults killed, and 36 pets killed by pits. It's not even surprising anymore.
