It's a good school that unfortunately gets overlooked by many solely because it's too close to home.
Exactly. I’m sure other kids (from elsewhere) rule out universities that they live close to as well. Kids from all over come to GMU, so it’s really just locals who pooh-pooh it due to proximity.
I don't know. Well over half of students at GMU are from NoVA.
False.
That's what SCHEV says.
From Fairfax County - 9,602 undergraduates
From Prince William County - 3,794 undergraduates
From Loudoun County - 3,368 undergraduates
From Arlington County - 748 undergraduates
From Alexandria City - 451 undergraduates
From Fairfax City - 333 undergraduates
From Manassas City - 278 undergraduates
From Masassas Park City - 182 undergraduates
From Falls Church City - 68 undergraduates
27,519 undergraduates, so about 67% are from NoVA.
Right. It is a nice school for lower class + lower middle class kids who can save % living at home + commuting.
Lol. And we are supposed to decry elistim on DCUM!

When you write stuff like this out, do you feel better about yourself afterwards?
No just factual. I did the same thing in another state.

That is truly remarkable and fantastic!! Congratulations!
It's not true. Total cost, all in is only $46K for GMU.
Maybe they were talking about the full amount of the scholarship over four years.
Well, then they should have said that
Most of us who know anything at all about GMU knew that $80k had to be over 4 yrs b/c a state school like GMU is not going to be $80k or more per year. PP didn't need to spell it out for 99% of us.
+ 1. And it's not uncommon for schools to give just enough aid to bring your cost down to your top in-state school. UMD does that. Northeastern does that.. Not new.
Northeastern is private.

+1
Why is it so hard to simply provide a link?

It’s a really good-to-great school for anyone, not just lower class and lower middle class.
