You say this like the the LCSB has two brain cells to run together to come up with a plan. They really don't. People are giving everyone involved way too much credit re: conspiracies between the parties.
I think people also forget that Eric Williams left in December of 2020. The most chaotic and unknown school year of all time. The board was panicked. They had no superintendent to manage distance learning, phasing in hybrid, a return to learn plan, vaccination. They hired someone who was immediately available and knew our system and to Ziegler’s credit, whatever came after, he handled those issues very well. He had a vaccination pod up and running within 3 weeks and all staff fully vaccinated by early February. Kids were back in school hybrid and he ramped that up to all 4 days by the end of the year, got a distance learning academy set up for parents who wanted kids to stay online in 2021, and had everyone back in all 5 days last school year. He does deserve credit for that because I saw how other districts managed things that year and LCPS was the most efficient at getting kids back in as many days as possible as quickly as possible.
