Yep. It’s a load of something that Rebel and Monday just ate healthy and lost so much weight. Definitely using the drug. I am about to start on it and I’ve told my family and friends. I KNOW I don’t eat so much more than everyone else and yet I am the fatty. So I am thrilled that there is a drug that will take dieting out of the “self control” column and put it into the “biology” column. I also have high cholesterol and have my entire life (when I was thin too) — and so does my extremely thin daughter. It’s genetic and no on bats an eye at putting me on a cholesterol medication. So why is everyone so stealth about going on semaglutides. I will probably be on it for the rest of my life but that’s ok because so many other obesity related risk factors won’t be a constant source of worry. Staying fat is bad. Happy to have this tool!

Here's the thing, the drug suppresses appetite (from what I understand). So you eat less and lose. If you are already not eating much, how does it work? It may optimize blood sugar like metformin but otherwise I dont see that it somehow increases your metabolic rate.

It makes you eat less than you were eating before. Not that hard to understand.

Eh I am not eating way less and I am dropping 2lbs a week minimum, likely a bit over 10lbs and I will take my 5th shot Sunday. Its unclear because I only have my weight from the doctors office and then got a scale almost 2 weeks in. I am also on my period but the scale hasnt gone up, it usually goes up 3-5 lbs for the week of my period and I weigh less consistently this week than the week prior.

Ive counted macros and weighed my food before so I have a pretty good internal estimator. Im still bringing in 1700 calories. Just calculated today and its 1667 give or take 50 calories.

It also slows down the emptying of your stomach. If you're stomach is still full, you don't eat. If the drug also curbs the impulse to eat, then you won't eat. For me, when I started I felt like had eaten Thanksgiving dinner if I ate a few bites. You really have to watch what you're eating when you start. You need to make sure that every bite has nutricional value because you won't be eating a lot.

It goes much deeper than just suppressing appetite. It slows gastric emptying (my bowels have changed while on it. I always had loose stools, never had constipation even while pregnant. No longer an issues). And helps the following ways:
It increases insulin production, but only when your blood sugar is rising—which makes the risk of low blood sugar minimal.
It decreases your liver’s production of sugar.
It slows down the speed at which your stomach empties food into your intestine. This helps manage your blood sugars after eating while also leaving you feeling full longer.

It has also shows to decrease body fat, weight, triglycerides, LDL and increased HDL. In theory, the more weight you gain, the more insulin resistant you become. Its a really crappy feedback loop because insulin resistance makes it harder to lose weight and your body sends signals that it is hungry constantly because glucose isnt getting into the cells. When your cells dont get adequate glucose, exercise and every ADLs can become exhaustive.

I’m pretty sure the kardashians did too, for that matter. A mini gastric sleeve or something.

You don’t have any idea how she got that way to begin with. Could be a metric ton of alcohol and a lot of stress and garbage food. Not everybody needs to become beholden to big pharma to lose weight. Though I do think it’s great people have that option if they want to take it.

I find it it highly suspicious that a bunch of morbidly obese celebs who have never been thin are suddenly thin and it all happens to coincide with the reports of the wide use of semaglutides to the point that they created shortage. I live in europe and guess what, every day there are reports of local celebrities losing 50-100 pounds. how come everyone is "eating healthy and exercising" all of a sudden.

Then you're not using any critical thinking skills at all. They are wealthy celebrities who can afford all types of solutions for weight loss. Are you also wondering how they can be celebrities and you aren't one? I mean use your brain. These meds are every where. If you are fat and haven't heard of these medications, then you're not actively trying to lose weight. I was in the study for Wegovy, lost over 100lbs and when Wegovy was released, it was an explosion in sales and Mournjaro has been even bigger due to the $25 coupon.

This has always been true yet there were plenty of fat celebrities.

And sometimes being fat is their schtik. Fat Amy, almost any male comedian, Melissa McCarthy. Other celebs GOT fat, they didnt make their mark as a fat person. And almost all of them have tried and yo-yo just like most of the American populace who tries losing weight. Jessica Simpson, Kirstie Alley, Val Kilmer, Jonah Hill, etc. Kelly Clarkson somewhat but she has managed to survive because of her personality and skills. She still gets put down and had an awful marriage plus divorce. I wouldnt be surprised if she debuted a slimmer figure in the by fall next year.

Is hair loss a fact? KK is a bad example, since she had a wicked bleaching job.

Are you jealous?

why does she need to be jealous to notice what is very obvious. people who were never thin are all suddenly getting thin AT THE ROUGHLY THE SAME TIME. 99 out of 100 is on semaglutides.

Which is a problem, why?

because fat people are looking at them and feeling and blaming themselves for not being able to do it, without realizing these people have BIG HELP.

Are these celebrities going around saying they are not using these drugs? Even if they are, shut off the TV and stop consuming that garbage.

Everybody knows the Rock is on steroids, and denies it. BS. Who cares. Just ignore it.

The world doesn’t have an obligation to make you feel good about yourself all the time. I also don’t think people in the public eye owe you a detailed medical history. Get a grip.

And no fat per person is looking at celebrities and blaming themselves for not losing weight like they are. You sound like an idiot. These medications are all over the internet, social media and a large population of doctors are starting to talk to their overweight patent about them. So I think you sound envious and/or jealous.

I am a science PhD and I only learned about this six months ago, and it took me a while to get it. So, no, not everyone knows about this, though they soon will.
