You're wrong, but you didn't go to TJ so you don't know. It's a huge network and alumni help each other.

It's a thing in the Bay Area to differentiate from the transplants.

Sometimes it depends on where you grew up. I grew up in Honolulu, where no one asks where you went to college, but everyone wants to know where you went to high school. There are only a small handful of private high schools in Honolulu, so your alma mater is meaningful and bonds are instantly recognized.

The Jesuit high school my spouse attended has been around 200 years and has many very successful alums. There is a ton of networking, more so than the elite college.

I am always amazed that wherever we travel (abroad or in the US) if he or one of my sons is wearing something with the school name or logo, somebody is an alum.

The connections from my boys' Jesuit high school reach far and wide. It is amazing how close the ties and bonds are. My dad went to an all-male Jesuit high school in a different state and it was very similar. He would be ecstatic when he saw someone with a hat or shirt with the high school logo and they would talk like old friends--not matter the age difference.

These connections and the networking are bigger than the ones from their top 10 universities.

They must be from St. Louis...

I work with someone who finds a way to bring up that she went to TJ for high school at least once a week. SHE IS IN HER 40S AND WORKS FOR THE GOVERMENT. It's so sad. I feel so sorry for her.
