This response was for your armchair analysis and blanket assumptions about why someone would be single. There are so many reasons but you just boil it down to one absolute. You must be quite a peach, PP.

I am almost 50 and have been single for 15 years. I have not put any effort into finding a partner. However as I inch towards 50, I am feeling a stronger pull and will likely start to find someone for my later years. There are pros and cons to being single vs married and for this time of my life I preferred single but I think I want a partner (not necessarily marriage) for the next stages of life. How easy hard that will be to find someone, I don't know.
