This court doc talks about one part of the body, the shoulder. You don't have the full picture of his medical history to see what else is happening. The State/County would have immediately removed his property tax exemption if the Vet did not longer qualified. This vet still shows that he has the exemption as he is 100% disabled. My son is disabled and I pray for him every day that he won't deal with people like you all, always judging without knowing facts. Stop and think what's happening here. I can't imagine how her husband must be feeling; attacking his wife due to his disability and the fact that he used his EARNED benefit to protect his family.
What a gross group of people. I'm done here.

A tweet, a press release, whatever.
"Our home is in 100% good standing on taxes and we have not received any benefits that are not earned and in good standing"
Than its pure egg in the face of the accuser, and the whole thing is put to bed.
Then it seems the ball is in the court of the accuser to put up or shut up. Or indeed this is much adieu about nothing.
Just like the Homestead Exemption, the rules for the Veterans Disability Exemption are clear. The VA has determined that her husband does not have a 100% disability and this was confirmed on appeal. At minimum she should not receive the exemption from the date of the appellate opinion and because the appeal confirms the judgement of the 30% disability in 2020, between 2020-2022 there should have been no award of benefits either due to eligibility.
Saying the “corresponding agency has confirmed…” is total nonsense and deflection from the facts at issue.
None of the things you have posted are accurate. First, the appeals court opinion does not only talk about the shoulder (hint: you need to read the footnotes in legal documents). Second, there is not automatic mechanism by which the VA transmits this information to the state and the county. Like the Homestead Exemption and in fact all other taxes, it requires self-reporting.

If you are a hardcore partisan to the left- this is a gross attack on a veteran family, and nothing more than a conservative hit piece.
If you are on the right- clearly the family has illegally tried to benefit from an exemption that is unearned.
The truth almost certainly lies somewhere in the middle. Her husband was wounded/injured in combat. They have filed the VA claims because of that. Maybe they were turned down. Maybe they are still in process. Maybe they appealed the initial ruling.
Unless I missed something, none of us really know.
She should make a statement and tell us what the status of the claim is.
The truth is, even if they *did* falsely claim the benefit- she will win easily anyway.
Her husband has a history of financial mismanagement. He’s been sued in Maryland courts over 10 times for failure to pay debts. Add that context to this situation and it’s hard not to see it as willful shenanigans.
Why are women responsible for their h’s actions?

Natali Fani-Gonzalez: My property taxes? You have no right to attack me and even though I seek public office, I owe no disclosure obligations to anyone. These are ableist attacks on how my family received benefits that public records indicate I should not be entitled are are disgusting and shameful.

Anonymous wrote:One document placed in an article that already gives a false accusation shouldn't be used to make the judgment that the Vet is not 100% disabled. VA cases are highly complex. Again, call the county instead of judging people without seeing all the facts.
Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:There is no investigation on her husband's 100% rating as disabled veteran. You can call the County to verify that his standing is accurate. Instead of thinking how a disabled veteran got to the economic situation he is in, people are coming up with a series of theories. It's disgusting. Has he been hospitalized? How is his health? It's shameful. I have seen Natali and she is a hard worker who truly cares for people. She is working and running her campaign with young children and a DISABLED husband who is clearly having a very hard time. There is no tax evasion. The man earned his benefits defending this country. There is no news about this because there is no investigation. People are telling her to disclose her husband's PRIVATE information on his benefits. How low can we be as a society?
I am not sure what any of this has to do with the fact that there is a court record that says that in 2020 he was determined by the VA to be 30% disabled that was confirmed through appeal in 2022.
100% VA determined disabled is required to meet the criteria for obtaining the tax exemption that was received.
This situation is no different than someone claiming a Homestead Exemption for a property after moving their official residence.

And no, it's not about her being nice, it's about the facts. People are judging a disabled vet without knowing what happened to him. Again. Shameful.

She could be the nicest, hardest working person in the world. The original post suggests there is an ongoing case in regards to this.
Is that not true?
Will she continue to receive the property tax exemption in her next tax bill despite the VA determining that her husband is only 30% disabled?
