Yes, I would. I wouldn't just run out and do it the same day she asked, but if it was a consistent request we would do it for a special occasion- birthday, good report card, etc...

I will never wrap my head around why ear piercings/subsequent ear piercings are a sticky issue. It’s safe enough, not truly permanent, and I think jewelry is beautiful and fun. It just isn’t something where I would step on the toes of a child or teen and get in the way of bodily autonomy.
For what it’s worth, I am an adult with eight ear piercings. I usually don’t wear eight earrings at once. Styling my ears with nice earrings truly brings me joy, especially when I wear something that was a gift or has a memory tied to it. If that makes me trashy, so be it.

I tend to agree. It’s hardly bodily mutilation for a girl to get her ear pierced.

You take the earrings out. They might close up, might not, but either way there’s no piercing without jewelry in it.
I’ve never heard of a piercing that did not eventually close up if you stop wearing earrings.
I had my ears double-pierced, and when I stopped wearing earrings in the second holes, they closed up pretty quickly.
