People on the left are pro-RCV because they mistakenly assume that there are a lot of lesser evil, liberally inclined voters that would otherwise vote for the more liberal candidate except “electability” or something like that.

I don't. I vote for anyone labeled republican in DC local elections, followed by any democrat or independent that is a centrist Tony Williams type. DC needs to change how it runs election for any of these to have a chance to win.
This is exactly how I vote as well. Moderates all over the US have been disenfranchised by the loons on both ends of the spectrum of crazy. We should have ranked choice voting everywhere and force politicians back to the middle.

Exactly, the Council chair and 16 year member of the council only got 54% against an ANC commissioner. Traditional Democrats are an endangered species in this town. They played footsie with the socialists and now can’t put the genie back in the bottle. It’s the same deal with the MAGA crowd overtaking the GOP.

She barely survived a progressive challenge despite the power of incumbency and handing out billions of dollars of COVID cash. Traditional Democrats are in trouble, and they know it. Cheh was the only no vote in the ridiculous plan to let illegal immigrants vote in our elections.

As to your new point about a trend, Muriel Bowser is just not likeable. NYC got Adams, who is a centrist. I don't think there's evidence of a clear trend.
