Isn't ranked choice voting a progressive position? I've always seen the moderates/establishment (e.g., Mendelson) fighting it.

Why do you keep voting for democrats? Because that’s what this has gotten all of you. And you KEEP doing it!
I don't. I vote for anyone labeled republican in DC local elections, followed by any democrat or independent that is a centrist Tony Williams type. DC needs to change how it runs election for any of these to have a chance to win.

Exactly, the Council chair and 16 year member of the council only got 54% against an ANC commissioner. Traditional Democrats are an endangered species in this town. They played footsie with the socialists and now can’t put the genie back in the bottle. It’s the same deal with the MAGA crowd overtaking the GOP.

Not going to happen. This is the fatal flaw of a one party jurisdiction. The primary candidates are like crabs in a bucket and the only way to stand out is to embrace increasingly radical policies. Mayor Barry would never win a DC primary today. DC politics is toxic in the same way that Alabama is, just in the opposite direction.
That's why Muriel Bowser lost to the more left wing challenger and... Oh, wait you're full of it.
Um. If Trayvon White didn’t run the left wing candidate most certainly would have won. Hurts to be the Democratic Alabama, doesn’t it?
1. You must not be very bright. Robert White would have had to pick up nearly 100% of Trayon White's votes for that to happen. Some of them may have voted for Bowser or no one.
2. I'm ok with being the exact opposite of Alabama.
Um, in 2018 Bowser got 80% of the primary vote. This time around she eked out less than 50%. She barely survived a progressive challenge despite the power of incumbency and handing out billions of dollars of COVID cash. Traditional Democrats are in trouble, and they know it. Cheh was the only no vote in the ridiculous plan to let illegal immigrants vote in our elections.

This really says a lot more about you. Your assumption is both anecdotally and statistically wrong.
Racism is one hell of a drug
It certainly is when you assume the residents of a homeless shelter are of a particular race. Why do yo think that?
Homeless people in DC are disproportionately Black. Yes, that is due to racism.
You done drank the drug of racism is responsible for everything .
