My current school is large but only 1 lunch.

I’ve had a couple kids go through the magnet program, from outside the DCC, and we really like it. It’s run very well, most of the teachers (non magnet and magnet)) are really good, and there are a ton of clubs. Your kid (and you on BTSN) definitely get your steps in!
Work for the schools much? Man you are really drinking the cool aide. Look, I like my kids high school (not Blair) but I don’t feel the need to rep for it. What is the motivation besides astroturfing for MCPS?!
I don’t work for the school. I’ve had kids from outside the DCC go to Blair, and we really like it. That’s it. Someone was asking about how big it is. Yes, it’s HUGE, the largest in the state. But it doesn’t feel that way (except for the parking).
Just ignore them. It's that same troll who accuses anyone who disagrees with them of being a shill.

Some people like their kids' schools and want to counter some of the DCUM hate

The magnet is small and many of those kids are in the same clubs or sports. Most of the kids spend most of their time with only magnet kids because their schedules leave little room for classes where they interact with kids in the academies.
I had two kids go through the magnet. This is inaccurate and misleading. Over half the school days is spent with non-magnet kids. There are no exclusively magnet clubs.
Agree. My magnet kids interacted with all kids (in classes, clubs and sports). It is not a segmented as the one poster makes it. My kids all thrived there, and we do not live close. The History and English classes are top notch, as well as the magnet. We have found it to be a great and welcoming school. It’s run VERY well and they clearly choose great teachers!
