We asked our child's third grade teacher before scheduling a Disney trilp. lShe encouraged us to go, and said that everyone is making up vacations and taking kids out this year.

I'm taking my first grader out for a week, for my sister's wedding on the other side of the world. But, I will ask for worksheets from the teacher before hand and I know testing is not happening that week.

I missed 3 months of third grade for a family trip — it was one of the most memorable experiences of my life, taught me far more than anything I learned in elementary school.
