Honestly, it sounds like too many kids. Ds is a pretty chill kid who is well behaved but I can see him being influenced by other kids at activities and have to remind him of what is expected from time to time. I would not want to send him to a party in a smaller space, like a house, with that many kids because it sounds like a recipe for trouble.

DS had a sleep over with 3 friends that went well. We kept the number down to the number of kids that could sleep in the space that we had and there was some sort of adult supervision at all times. Mainly us listening in because our house is not huge. The kids were also kids who we know well and who know us so they had an idea about our expectations.

Maybe for a larger group at home, plan a movie under the stars where the kids are outside and you can limit the crazy.

That behavior is so over the top, I would seriously consider finding a low key way of letting the parents know what happened. If my kid had been a part of the group, I would be bringing her back the next day with a hand written apology and cookies she baked herself.

I only have boys, so maybe it is different, but none of my boys' friends have ever acted this way.

Yup, because I’m sure the parents of the girls at this party also thought “my kid would NEVER behave that way”

Here’s the thing. I know my daughter would never behave this way. My ADHD son? Possible (leaving basement, acting wild, being loud - I don’t think he would leave trash all over though), but anyway that’s why I don’t put him in situations where he would become overly stimulated (like a crowded sleepover). You have to know your child’s limitations.

Agree, I would say maybe up to six.

I’ve never had a sleepover that large but in no way were the girls I had over anything but respectful and clean. This doesn’t reflect my experience at all.
