I cannot imagine having this level of anxiety and traveling. I love to travel and go all over the world whenever I can, and I can’t see how you could ever travel.
And enjoying the best food when you travel - yummy street food!!! OP would have a heart attack!
Yes, you'd have to be neurotic not to eat it.![]()

She held my cup and pushed down the top of my cup with the same bare unwashed hands which were handling money, a dirty screen, and some random stranger's used cup. And presumably even worse long prior to my arrival. It's nasty. She shouldn't be handling or recycling used cups, period.
I can't imagine having the mental energy to pay attention to this kind of thing. It wouldn't phase me one bit.
+100. The OP must be so exhausted and exhausting. I feel sorry for someone who is this uptight.
It's not uptight. It's smart. Most people are dumb as doorposts and think basic hygiene is just too hard to do or worry about. They are the lower classes for a reason.
OP is ~~high klass~~
And you -- are not.
Ma’am are you calling me a dirty pot?

x1000 This is what you need to do, OP. The barista needs to be trained in safe food handling processes. Her actions, as you described in your OP, violated several processes that are supposed to keep customers safe from illness.

I ordered an espresso to go. I gave her a $5 bill and said keep the change ($2). So she touched the screen barehanded, then takes my cash and gets change barehanded. Then a customer behind me wants a fill up of ice or something. So she takes his used cold cup and tops it off with ice. Still barehanded and hasn’t washed her hands. Then she gets to my espresso with the same barehands and didn’t wash.
And obviously I have no idea what she did prior to my arrival, possible she’s been going cash register to making drinks all day.
Would you send an email to a manager and/or report them to local health dept?
