I would donate a good chunk but then buy a beautiful new house with great entertaining space, throw great parties, buy new cars, travel, get a makeover, etc...I would do volunteer work in my current field, but definitely no job!

Quit my job on the spot they totally deserve it, then pack some bags and find another state or country to move to. I won't be staying here.

no winner

I have the winning ticket but I have not yet turned it in.

I am getting good ideas from DCUM first so I know what to do with the money.

I thought they knew if someone won because they knew the numbers had been drawn?....

I would build my dream home. Nothing huge- probably 3000 sq feet would be good. A magazine gorgeous craft room for me and my very own toilet in the master bedroom. It would have stunning outdoor living space - a pool designed by the tv guy who builds pools with grottos, an outdoor kitchen and outdoor media center (tv, sound system, etc)

I would setup trusts for my children.

I would endow a couple of scholarships. One in my mom’s name in her town to one of her favorite charities. Probably one at my childrens’ high school..

My “show off how much $$ I have” would be to donate enough to have a building named after me/my family. Not sure exactly where that would be - while I spend the first year on a round the world vacation, I’ll decide where to donate my money.

That's like saying "I'll donate $100 million charity and another $5 million to some guy working for Merrill Lynch."

If you have half a billion dollars, you don't need to invest.

So that the half billion continues to grow for your kids/grandkids

That's enough wealth to last many lifetimes if managed correctly

I would give all (most of) my relatives and friends $1 million each. Buy a family beach house for everyone. Build my dream home. Get a dog.

Secretly buy properties.
Set up a trust.

I don't really need that much money. Just need to finish with paying off the house, get myself a new car, save enough to last 30 years. I really just need $5000 a month after tax.
Maybe an extra 50k a year for 30 years would be sufficient.

Seriously, it would only be 60,000 a year?
