I don’t really care about cars and I find my Subaru to be expensive and boring, but it’s great for tall people. It’s a Forester and it’s really tall I guess, or it just feels tall inside somehow. Way, way roomier for the very tall than the CRV or the RAV4.

We were visiting family in the Berkshires several years ago, and had to take our trash to the dump before leaving town. I was momentarily confused, because every other car there was also an Outback. For a second I thought I was at a dealership.

The highest concentration of Subarus I’ve ever encountered is in West Virginia. Who knew there were so many middle class strivers in WV

I live in an area with a mountain range, and so many people love them around here. There are roads they wouldn’t do w/o a Subaru, a 4wd truck or a jeep.

most wealthy people I know don't drive their own cars unless they are into cars. seriously, just get a driver.

they just are practical cars. we're not car people, why waste money on cars? i mean i guess there are those that like truly fancy or unique cars, but looking out on the streets, they aren't that many people like that.

honestly, the one expensive german car we had gave us more problems in a couple years than we've ever had with our subarus. maybe a lexus could work, but the subaru works just fine for us.

Like Hondas and Toyotas, they are affordable and extremely dependable. (Well, no car is affordable anymore.) They’re not a trash brand nor are they luxury: they’re for people who care more about their bank account than impressing strangers with a stupid car.

Volvo is not in the same league as BMW or Mercedes or Porsche or Audi. They are a tick below and their prices reflect that. Subaru outbacks are what volvo wagons used to be- safe practical cars that appealed to people across income ranges
