I wish I could take my kids to the aquarium but it's not worth the aggressive panhandlers at every intersection and the squeegee boys at every stoplight.
In the days we’ll before Rudy went batsh&@ crazy, at least as NYC mayor he got the squeegee gangs under control.
My claim: Rudy could start to redeem himself by volunteering to help clean up Baltimore.

At little river turnpike and 495 there is the same 4 people on each corner they all work 8 hours a day, the same older guy with the elbow brace and cane "works" there constantly. Why can't he get a job if he's out there 40+ hours a week? Also they leave their trash everywhere on the corner even though in 10 feet there are trash cans. Don't pay these people to litter.
Drives me nuts! They leave so much trash at the corners.
And not just trash - water bottles filled with urine. I do not understand how this is allowed/legal - it's disgusting.

I give my money to the neighborhood kitchens that feed the homeless and occasionally give a few bucks to a couple of homeless people I've seen for years in the neighborhood - and they don't panhandle. I'll also happily give money to buskers. But never random panhandlers.
Buskers are scammers now too. So many pretending to play.
There are some buskers who are legit. As opposed to things like the spackle bucket drummers who were fun to watch the first time but then you realize there are 57 more of them and they are all tapping out the same stale old beat for hours and hours with hardly any variation or anything interesting.
And don't even get me started on those fake monks around the national mall. It's gotten to where they turn around and go the other way when they see me coming.
The President has the Marine Band, aka “the President’s Own.”
The DC Mayor has the the Spackle Bucket Drummers.

“‘Open up large parcels of inexpensive land in the outer reaches of the city,' Trump said of his plan for the homeless, calling his real estate developer background into the forefront. 'Create thousands and thousands of high quality tents.'
He said it was the 'only way you're going to remove the hundreds of thousands of people, and maybe throughout our nation millions of people,' referring to the homeless.
'It can be done in one day,' Trump said.
He also boasted about having the Secret Service round up homeless encampments in the nation's capital as president and suggested doing so again, stating: 'I’d send people out immediately. Secret Service, by the way, did a phenomenal job.'”

You'd be pissed off if they left the kids unsupervised, too.
