DD got the last laugh. He can't get into any Frat house where as DD and her friends can walked right in and partied till 2:00am. Without the Ex, she met so many new people and have a great time at college.


It is laughable that you compared your DD's Ex to a recruited athlete.  it is not the same because athletes get away with a lot of things that regular students can't. It is almost impossible, 99.9997%, to have a relationship in college as an athlete because there are so many women who want to sleep with you.

That's not what i meant. I was stating that current societal setup works against it so these relationships have a high rate of failure. There are people eho make it work but both of them make it a priority.

My daughter married the guy she had been with since 8th grade. That was 11 years ago. Going strong. I worried about her not eating around but it worked out.

Not quite same situation but I got a serious bf as soon as I started - like the first week of freshman year - and dated him the whole time. The problem will solve itself, OP, and it's a good young adult learning experience. I still had friends and hobbies. The only thing I regret was not studying abroad because clingy bf didn't want me to.
