Sure it is. I receive chemo weekly. I am immunocompromised. I will wear my N95 when necessary, and I fully expect non immunocompromised to go about their daily lives. We are waaay past 2020 people.
I don’t believe you. If you were really on chemo, you’d know that your N95 is nowhere near full protection for the newest strains of Omicron. Not even close.

I picked it up in NYC
If you tested positive, it wasn't the stealth variant.

It is mild, and therefore, acts like a vaccine. That’s good news.
What I’m puzzled about is why vaccinated people are getting these variants at a higher rate than non.

Everyone can get vaccinated and others will always be moresusceptible and vulnerable. What kind of society and life do we want to live? I’m willing to take the risks of long COVID and unknown long term risk to live a normal life and give my kids a normal childhood. I’m sorry for those that are not able to take that risk. I mean that sincerely.
This is all really easy to say when you’ve never dealt with chronic illness or long term disability. Would be interesting to see what you would say if your good health (or your children’s God forbid) was messed up for life. As another poster says this is just dripping with arrogance, privilege and lack of humility.
Ok but how much longer would you like those without risks to stay inside, mask and quarantine when the best we can do via vaccines is already here. Another year? Two? Fifteen?
When has a healthy child's debt to others been paid?
How about we all work together given we all live, work and socialize in a highly populated area. What debt have you paid? I got sick a month ago, got better, caught something else and in bed for two weeks now? My kids have been in virtual and outside a few activities we are home and don’t see anyone. We,ve done our part and my kids will continue to pay the price for your unwillingness to take part in basic precautions. It’s not your kids paying the price, it’s mine. Your kids are not paying the price as you don’t care and did not teach them to care about the needs of others. It’s all about you and your wants.
The vaccines were not formulated for the new mutations.
So, you’re traipsing around and getting sick twice in one month and lecturing others about their actions? Ok cuckoo. If you’re running around getting sick anyway, why lock your kids up and make them into antisocial weirdos? You’re kids are playing a price alright…a price for mommy’s mental illness.
I am not running around getting sick. I am home. My kid got it from sports, shared it with me, I gave it back and then caught it again. I rarely go out.
You’re lecturing others and admonishing them for allowed their kids to do “normal” things, but, it’s ok for your kid to go to soccer, get covid, and spread it? Was he wearing his N95?

We’ve moved on. I assume for the foreseeable future some people will get sick with Covid and very, very rarely some people in poor health (like me) will die of it. Just like the flu or pneumonia.
Normal people are no longer fundamentally altering human life in 2022 America given that tail risk. We squashed the curve or whatever the hell the phrase was. Kids are fine. True Biden’s numbers on management have gotten way worse than TFG’s, but that’s impolite to mention.
So apparently if you catch COVID multiple times it reduces you to the maturity of a middle school kid?

Very bizarre response - not anywhere did I say people had to stop living their lives- lol. I said it’s easy to say you feel “sorry” for people who aren’t living their lives when you don’t have to deal with the trauma of having a chronic or disabling condition or illness is arrogant and frankly not just tone deaf but bordering on sociopathic. Getting Covid for me could trigger a relapse in my illness, so the person’s post was of little regard to how serious illness can impact the quality of life of others. To be able to not worry about getting Covid is a serious privilege. Y’all with health privilege also seem to have little concern for the fact that it is possible to seriously damage your long term health if you keep getting repeated infections of Covid. These cavalier attitudes are a bit disturbing in the sense that they feel almost nihilistic - the idea of getting repeated infections and gambling with your kids’ health without any real concern for the future. That said, I don’t really care what you do- just think it’s really easy to be cavalier when you haven’t had to deal with the worst outcomes… yet.
