Like who, Hogan?
He's a guy who many bring up as a sane, "moderate" Republican, and even he has no business touching DC with a ten-foot pole.
Larry Hogan, along with Charlie Baker in MA, are two moderate Republican governors in Democratic states that are consistently ranked among the most popular nationally. We could do a lot worse than Larry Hogan.
Talk about damning with faint praise.
Hogan truly is nothing special, he just looks the part when comparing him to other Republican governors. In kowtowing to his rural base, he put the kibosh on a much-needed transit line in Baltimore and hit the pause button on the Purple Line, unnecessarily causing years of delays and costing the state billions; I'd call him a penny wise, pound foolish Republican, but that would just be redundant.
The guy has such a miniscule backbone that he wrote in Ronald Reagan in 2020. Wow, such a pragmatic moderate! Pathetic.
A lot of people in the middle with the Hogan's , Romney's, tony Williams (wish I could think of some women's names as well). And we need people in the middle.in DC city council. Cannot believe it just keeps moving further left, but because I'm registered indepedent I can't vote in the run up ugh and the extreme candidates are who make it to the finish line. I wish we could look at our voting procedures too. Lots of people holding their noses with both parties right now

There are lots of wealthy people here who would like lower taxes and some who would be open to a little variety on the council. Give us statehood and then try to earn the votes versus just blocking people’s right to representation. I voted for Schwarz and Catania over the years.

Anyone, anyone, Bueller, Bueller?
NYC was set straight under Rs. Sure, Guilliani is an insane person now but Michael Bloomberg also was an R mayor. Probably the safest and best city in the country. They generally avoid some mayors and politicians at the city level.

Anonymous wrote:Fort Worth, Texas, has a Republican mayor and also saw a 27-year high in homicides in 2021, so if for some reason you think Republicans automatically cure crime, maybe think again.
