Wait, they broke in after hours AND recorded anything and everything they could find in offices, hallways, garbage cans, conference rooms?
Gross. What a violation.

No, of course not.
This is big, however.
This is as bad as Watergate. Maybe worse.
Agree. Colbert’s staff are Biden’s people.

Story:
The U.S. Capitol Police arrested a group of staffers with CBS's "The Late Show With Stephen Colbert" after they allegedly illegally entered a U.S. House of Representatives office building on Thursday night, Fox News has learned.
The group of nine people were arrested in the Longworth House Office Building after being escorted out of the Jan. 6 committee hearing earlier in the day because they did not have proper press credentials, according to sources.
The same group resurfaced later on Thursday night after the Capitol complex was closed to public visitors and Fox News is told that they took videos and pictures around the offices of two Republican members of Congress, Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy R-Calif. and Rep. Lauren Boebert, R-Colo.
A senior source in the U.S House of Representatives told Fox News that nine individuals associated with Stephen Colbert's show were arrested: Jake Plunkett, Allison Martinez, Tyrone Dean, Stephen Romond, Nicoletta Green, Brendan Hurley, Robert Smigel, Josh Comers, David Feldman.

Given the speed with which this was pulled up into the right wing dumb-o-sphere, I still suspect that the right wing elements in the Capitol Police were being political. But no one among the puppeteers was insurrectioning. No one was threatening anyone’s lives.
Considering they keep voting for Republicans, I'm guessing the answer to that question is a resounding "no."

“Thursday evening, the group was doing some “last-minute puppetry” in a hallway, Colbert said, when they were approached and detained by Capitol Police. (This echoed the statement that CBS released Friday when the news became public. The Washington Post reported that police said the building was closed to visitors at the time and that the group earlier had been directed to leave.)
“The Capitol Police are much more cautious than they were, say, 18 months ago — and for a very good reason,” Colbert said. “If you don’t know what that reason is, I know what news network you watch.”
“Until the next night,” Colbert continued. “When a couple of the TV people started claiming that my puppet squad had ‘committed insurrection’ at the U.S. Capitol building.” Colbert did not name names, but that quote came from Fox News’s Tucker Carlson.
“First of all, what? Second of all, huh? Third of all, they weren’t in the Capitol building,” Colbert said. “Fourth of all — and I’m shocked I have to explain the difference — but an insurrection involves disrupting the lawful actions of Congress and howling for the blood of elected leaders, all to prevent the peaceful transfer of power.”
“This was first-degree puppetry,” he added. “This was high jinks with intent to goof. Misappropriation of an old ‘Conan’ bit. It’s really Conan’s fault.”https://www.washingtonpost.com/arts-entertainment/2022/06/21/colbert-explains-staffers-arrested-capitol-hill/

Thanks Tucker!

They should have had trump signs and fought with the Capitol Police. My guess is the group did not have enough white men…so they were arrested.
My guess is that the Capitol Police are no longer going to humor anyone, regardless of their White count.
I’d wait for the whole story. This got picked up by right wing propaganda outlets suspiciously quickly. Like it was a set up, a political arrest. We know there are right wing elements within the Capitol Police, we all saw the images of the Capitol Police officers who just opened the barriers for the insurrectionists and those who posed for selfies with the insurrectionists as their patriotic colleagues were being assaulted as they fought to save the country.

Hilarious! Since when have you people "waited for the whole story"? The minute you catch a whiff of anything salacious, no matter how far-fetched or implausible, you're off and running on the gossip/outrage train.
