This is a monumental understatement but I do think he did not want to take control if he was let to. No leadership at the school the last two years and has been horrible to say the least.
St Anselms has a totally clueless BOD without any current parent input. Several teachers sit on the alumni group and direct the BOD from there. Communications is the worst I’ve ever seen with a school—emails never get though to anyone. Because communication with parents is not a priority. School can’t even figure out emergency messaging—too hard for staff. PA is terrible too. All boring meetings, no events.

Took a job next year in Minnesota private school; this was announced months ago before kicking off the search.
New principal was teacher at Dalton.

Oh yes after 30 years she’s sabotaging the school for her ego. Geezuz.
Yeah, hard to believe that the person who’s had a building on campus named for her for like 15 years might have a gigantic ego.
Ego is one thing, but the sinister inclination to sabotage the school? Conjecture like what you’re saying is what makes this forum a cesspool of toxic misinformation.
I don’t think anyone believes current HOS wants to sabotage but it’s entirety believable (and on-brand) to hire a weaker leader so current HOS can still “advise” and “consult”
After a 30 year successful run they weren’t going to find an stronger successor. Maybe she’s retiring so she doesn’t have to advise and run the school from the shadows. Is that possible? Everybody’s focused on the whittle tenure, but this guy has a very successful track record beyond that. he wasn’t going to take a job or he gets to be a puppet for his predecessor. Heads of school typically come in with a vision and their own style. it’s a very complex CEO position Give the dude a chance.

Tell me you’ve never worked there without telling me you’ve never worked there.
