I much prefer winter and fall too. I love the crisp air and lack of bugs.

I can appreciate some things about summer, but the heat sucks. I feel like I can do anything at all in the winter, but hate going out in the summer unless it's directly to the beach.

The only saving grace about summer heat is that it makes a margarita taste 1000x better. I do love a quick dinner from the grill and a margarita.

No way! I love summer and dread winter. I can’t stand having all those thick pieces of clothing on my body, around my neck or on my hands. I can’t wait to get out of constructing and heavy coats and jackets and scarves and sweaters and hats and boots. Ugh! I am so happy that’s all behind me for a few wonderful months of freedom! Flip flops, shorts, light t-shirt, summer dress. That’s my kind of clothing. Love the heat, love the humidity, love the long days. No better time of year!

I feel the opposite. So much easier to throw on shorts and a tee or a loose cotton dress and sandals than wear leggings or jeans all the time. I find the former to be much for forgiving to my lumps.

Really? I feel like I can wear a sweater and loose jeans in the winter and look fine. I have nothing to wear in the summer. Jeans are too hot. My legs are too fat for shorts. I can’t wear anything on top that doesn’t at least cover my flabby upper arms. When I wear dresses I get chub rub on my thighs. I wear capris and a loose tee, but it looks terrible. Can’t wait to cover up again in the fall.

Get some Body Glide for the Chub Rub

Summer sucks.

Yes, I hate D.C. area summers. Spring brings me such mixed feelings because while the weather can be glorious at times, it means that the Dreaded Summer is right around the corner.

The perfect summer, to me, is with highs in the 70s or 80s, dipping into the 50s and 60s (chilly enough for a sweatshirt) like I grew up with in Vermont.

No. I love it. It makes me so happy.
I enjoy spring and fall.
I’m suicidal during the winter.

Wait, what? Serious question: you can get seasonal affective disorder in the summer? I thought that was sun related?

I’m with you OP! You are filthy almost the minute you hit the outdoors. Everyone is filthy and smelly. The heat drains me.

Hate it, other than the good produce. I felt depressed today…

Me too.

I’m a native, born here. DC summer suck @ss.

We go to Maine or San Diego for part of it. All of my summer vacation locales have to be cooler than DC. Going South in the summer would be personal hell. We took our kids to Legoland in San Diego even though Florida would have been closer and cheaper.

I loved living in Central Europe where a beastly hot day was 85 degrees.

+2 hate high heat and humidity. I blame my Northern European ancestry.

I now live in Australia and our summers are usually miserably hot, and you’d be surprised how most homes don’t have air conditioning. At least there are many beaches and pools to cool down in.

However the weather the rest of the year is fantastic, especially winters. it’s about mid 60s low 70s during the day and cool at night. Spring and Fall are warmer but also fabulous.

Anonymous wrote:I posted this because at this time of year it’s just shoved down my throat: photos upon photos of popsicle streaked children with “summer FINALLY!” as the caption.

Meanwhile my son today literally bemoaned “when will it be winter again?”

My children are very fair and get sick in the heat. It’s really hard although I do try to make summer fun for them! They hate the heat.

My kids and myself are all extremely fair and burn within minutes of sun exposure. But, we wear hats and sunscreen and love summer and being outside.

But I totally understand what you are saying since I really hate winter, much more than most people. Fortunately none of my kids tolerate the cold as poorly as I do.
