Wynonna’s daughter is also struggling. Fame is not always what you hope for.
Because she did it just 2 days before her daughter was to receive her greatest professional award. That award is now forever marred now. I agree with the PP that if you understood the family dysfunction you’d understand.

There is nothing so horrible as my mother fighting four policeman and constantly pooping in front of people. Her favorite word becameF**k. This was a gorgeous southern debutante. She flung feces at people. The worst is she would come back and ask us what she had done. Robin Williams was diagnosed either Lewy and I totally understand his subside. Nastiest dementia disease ever.

They just seemed so resigned to it when they accepted the reward- like while shocked, they weren't surprised. Hope she does they both do ok unpacking the anger and grief. I bet they have been through the wringer and hopefully will have some peace now.
What a shitty thing to write. The woman was obviously in unbearable pain. I thought she looked a little fragile in the performance a few weeks ago.
NP: it is a shitty thing to acknowledge, but if you’ve followed the Judds the pp is correct. This is totally on brand for Naomi, unfortunately.

I'm not sure it's ALL that.
It’s the HALL OF FAME in her industry. It’s not a star on Hollywood Boulevard that she paid for. There are less than 150 members in 70 years. It’s the ultimate achievement in a field that chews people up and spits them out, including her own mother, THE DAY BEFORE. Come on.
Maybe that was too much pressure on a fragile psyche.
I can imagine (obviously I cannot know) that part of her depression included a deep, deep well of self loathing, because depression almost always does. She turned on her very self. Maybe she just felt hollow and empty.. She struggled for YEARS and I imagine must have felt so defeated and hopeless and tired...she probably saw herself as broken and perhaps unworthy (in that moment) of the honor that was to follow. We will never know.
