Yes. ACHS.

It also depends on the team. My son was a member of an ACHS team in 8th grade, but could only do practices. There was no JV, so no way to compete without affecting his high school eligibility to play. The idea was to get kids that they want to compete in the future involved and ready.

HA I laughed out loud when I saw that comment about basketball. It is the MOST difficult team to make almost always at a large public high school.

Our school's swim team is incredibly competitive. I believe 100+ kids tried out for 70 spots.

Thats not incredibly competitive.
Some sports have 200 kids trying out for 15 or 20 spots on a team.

Yeah I’ll take a 70 percent acceptance rate for any Tom dick or Jane

Our school's swim team is incredibly competitive. I believe 100+ kids tried out for 70 spots.

Thats not incredibly competitive.
Some sports have 200 kids trying out for 15 or 20 spots on a team.

People have given good info on APS, I will add that Wakefield is usually a bit less competitive in some of those sports and it can be one of the benefits of going there in my opinion - more opportunity.

To narrow down the list, you could look to see which schools are at the bottom of the table for the sports you are interested in. It’s easy to see which swim teams had the fewest points at the state championship, etc. This will give you an indication of teams that are either no cut or have more lenient cuts.

In APS, 8th graders can play up on HS teams if it’s a sport that isn’t already offered in middle school. So football, crew, lacrosse, etc. Not swimming, tennis, soccer, wrestling, basketball because those are offered in MS.
