Subject: Do adult women share rooms vs men on adult trips?
We will both share a room, but everyone MUST have their own bed. So 2 queens or 2 doubles means 2 people in the room.
When we were 20 something, 2 queens would have meant 4 of us in the room. Ain't no way now.
I will occasionally still share a king size bed with a friend, but my DH wouldn't. This is usually when we're doing a girls trip to an Air BNB and some sharing makes it easier.

^ I should add that both of us travel with friends we have had for decades. I think we might prefer single rooms if it was a newish friend or someone we didn't know that well. The friends we travel with, we have been sharing rooms with on trips since our 20s.

I haven't shared a bed since my 20s but I usually share a room with two beds with a friend if we are travelling in a group. No more than two people per room!
Cuts way down on expenses.
DH has also shared rooms lots of times as well.

I used to share rooms on trips when younger and needed to save the money.
I'm a grown man in my 50s that makes good money. The days of sharing a room are over.

Op here. This must be a friend group and budget related.
On my last few girl trips, I was the only one who had my own bed. Everyone else shared.
NP here. I am in my mid forties and my girlfriends also all want to share rooms AND beds. I’m the one who wants my own room.
DH rarely shares a room and definitely not a bed. Very very occasionally a broke friend May sleep on the second queen but he has very few broke friends.
We have a $2m+ HHI but I have always had a higher income than my girlfriends. In our twenties, I earned 200k+. Friends HHI range 100k-800k.

I'm not too precious for it, but have no need to sleep in a hotel room with someone else. Way too much money for that.

I have shared rooms or beds with various different groups of girlfriends. Of course we prefer our own space but if the layout requires it, NBD.
I think it is a gender thing more than anything else. We could all afford our own rooms but look to spend the most amount of time together.
I recently went overseas and landed at 6 a.m. and told my husband I would go crawl into bed with my girlfriend who already had a room. He said no man would ever say that.

Me either. DH acts like his whole day is ruined if he can’t have a relaxing 30 minute poop. If we are traveling or for whatever reason he didn’t get his time, he will have to stop multiple times during the day to “try” to poop. He won’t just wait until it feels like the poop is ready. He wants to preemptively get it out for some odd reason. It’s bizarre. I just wait until it’s ready and then I’m quick.

It's more dangerous for women to have a single room. I follow a airline attendant for travel tips and I'm surprised how many of them are about hotel safety for women.

I wonder if it is financial. My husband makes a very high income as do most of his friends. My friends are a mix of working women and stay at home moms. HHI varies from friend to friend.
As a fully formed adult I pay the single supplement and happily retreat to my own space when I need to. Not an issue of income although I’m comfortable. I surely don’t share a room w another gender.
