And it fits with the parents’ characters - who raised a daughter attending the prissy camp, embracing traditional roles, living somewhere with a maid, having just come off time living with their kid’s in-laws, having mom overhear her daughter on the phone securing credit with multiple places, having the mom overhear her daughter tell her screaming kid he needs to eat toast, and having raised a prissy kid…that when he realized it needed money, he got a job without verifying the pay and when he realized the pay, he stayed at the job. Wow. Realistic AND hilarious.

You're taking this a little too seriously. It's fiction. And, people are entitled to have an opinion that is not the same as yours.

If Midge is supposed to be funny, the writers should actually write it that way. Her stage shows are simply NOT funny.

The constant shouting dialogue between the family members is excruciating to listen to. The Palladinos have a terrible habit of shooting their shows as if they're on stage. Does.Not.Translate.to.TV.

I HATE HATE HATE the strip club setting. I have no idea what the purpose of it is and why this would help Midge's career.

I think she's going to get rediscovered there. At the very end of episode four, the camera focused in on one male patron leaving the club. I think that was a foreshadowing. (And I hope the strip club thing doesn't last much longer because it's not entertaining.)

Oh that's interesting, I didn't notice that.

But she's also not that funny at the strip club. We saw so many great stage performances from her in seasons past. Maybe that's what's missing-- her killing it on stage and the context of that moment in her life.

What was the purpose of Midge being ignored repeatedly on Christopher Street?

What was the purpose of the maid staying up late to wash Susie's dishes?

How did Abe telling the investigator that his friend lit the fire help further the story? I can understand Abe getting mad...but how did having the agent there help anything? Because the lawyer rushed the agent off and we don't see him again in the apartment. This is one thing that is so frustrating about this show.

Same thing with Joel's mom making sure he would be at his club on Friday so obviously she could set him up...and nothing comes of that? We already knew she was trying to set him up. Couldn't Joel have a conversation with his girlfriend about that without needing the unnecessary call from Joel's mom about another set up - which precipitated Joel's conversation with Mei.

This is how I feel about the bedroom - we don't see it again all mashed up. So what was the purpose? I get the whole "new" arrangement idea but it was impractical and completely contrary to Midge's character.
