Are you trolling or really don't know? NVUFC has no chance at either.: it's not easy and for NVUFC ECNL would be a pipedream--they don't have the player pool or infrastructure to be in ECNL. Will all due respect, this sounds like a troll post because your prior ones seem to come off as having some knowledge about what's going on internally.

I'm confused, too. Why are the boys coaches leaving? And if they are, why would parents let their kids go to a club that plays below ECNL? Assuming NVUFC doesn't or won't play in ECNL/MLSNext? I mean, they can if they love their coach that much. I can't see a huge swath of BRYC boys taking over other ECNL or MLSNext clubs in town? Im really confused about why there is such an uproar? It is shortsighted. Isn't club ball about the kids and players growth not the coaches? And if they believe the boys are really good, all the BRYC kids will keep their spots and maybe gain more talent.I don't get why the boys coaches (and some parents) are fighting this. Someone explain it to us beside saying a board is the problem, which is total distraction.


No word has been made about whether or not new blood is being brought into the coaching ranks. If ECNL is a partnership with VYS, would assume VYS gets a voting say on whether these BW, DW, CJ, and AF are all retained. Or, they bring in some of their own to work with some less than affable personalities in CJ and BW, who presumably envisioned this coming and were smart enough to set a separate anchor down with NVUFC. New blood would be good for BRYC, as things are not headed in a healthy direction.


Are those coaches not liked at BRYC? Is it confirmed that they are leaving? I assume that if they leave then BRAVE will be led by and essentially be VYS with a few coaches on the girls side from the former BRYC. If they are leaving for NVUFC it won't be easy getting into a top league without the player pool and track record as NVUFC. The only thing they have going for them is the experience/connection/relationships with those leagues but even that is not usually not enough. I would think that the boys coaches may not like that they have to report to new folks or be accountable in certain areas that they didn't have to be before. Too much is really up in the air until something actually happens.

I think the BRYC boys ECNL teams are probably comparable to Vienna Eagle teams. VYS 05 boys beat BRYC ECNL 2-0 in tournament play.

Not really sure you have your eyes open. If the ECNL playoffs started today, BRYC boys would have zero teams in. Last year they had zero teams make the playoffs. Their best position for any age group is 12 out of 18 in the ECNL MidAtlantic. Both the boys and girls side need severe help and something done.

That's probably true at the older ages because BRYC is in ECNL and more dedicated players will gravitate toward ECNL or MLS Next teams in the older age groups.

But in terms of developing younger talent that could feed into the new BRAVE team, I'd bet that VYS is equal to BRYC. The key to success of BRAVE will be whether it can successfully funnel the top talent from VYS into BRAVE versus watching them leave for other nearby teams like Arlington, Alexandria, SYC/Mclean, etc.

Well, if that's the case, it will be short-lived indeed.

While it's true that VYS kids were always free to go to BRYC all along, most would not consider BRYC because there were other ECNL options, notably Arlington, relatively close by. Why join a weaker BRYC team if you can play in ECNL for a stronger club? The BRAVE joint-venture with VYS increases the chances that some VYS kids will consider BRYC, and give BRYC some sorely-needed help. I don't see any downside for BRYC.

Fairfax BRAVE is only ECNL level teams, 1 boys team and 1 girls team U13 and up. 12 teams total.

BRYC and VYS each field separate teams to play in ECNL-RL, and otherwise run their house and travel programs as they did before the partnership.


It is my understanding that BRYC only had ECNL prior to this merger and VYS ECNL-R. With this merger BRAVE will be ECNL and BRYC and VYS each have their own ECNL-R team. Is that correct? Where is BRYC going to get enough players to also field a second team? Do they have enough players in the "composite" or VYS in their second team to jump and fill the empty spots left in their Regional team or to the new one of BRYC? The top team will definitely be good but their second teams may be so-so at best where players not making BRAVE will possibly just leave. I think it's good for BRAVE but the underlying programs could take a hit.
