You just got put down by another commenter, and then you again comment as if you are somehow superior and have the upper hand. And then as a crutch you invoke supposed views of commenters that have nothing to do with the topic being discussed.

I, in turn, am amused by your repeated put-downs where you claim to know what "everyone" thinks. How is that even possible? I suppose the only way that it could be possible is if you actually spend time talking with your Sidwell mom friends about this message board? While that would be sad and pathetic, even then you still would have no idea what everyone thinks.

I'm not the one who brought up this concern. I'm pushing back against all the nonsense critiques from people who try to police this board and Sidwell posts in particular. And I will disagree with you as sometimes this is the best place to bring up an issue, at least initially. At minimum, there is nothing wrong with bringing it up here. And if you don't want to read about it, no one is forcing you to do so.

I completely agree. Full disclosure - I don't have a child who goes to Sidwell but I find the threads fascinating. I think the OP has a legitimate point of view. Its interesting (and I think VERY telling) how all the Sidwell boosters are so rapid in their response and (over the top, IMHO) defense of the school. Me thinks you doth protest too much........

See, you are again assuming that you are communicating with just 1 person and that I actually initiate critical discussions of Sidwell on this message board. And then you talk about "our" as if you speak for everyone else. Given that we are all commenting on an anonymous message board, it is quite strange. I’m reading that differently. Pretty sure they are mocking the OPs claims of hypocrisy based on the overused criticism that Sidwell doesn’t live up to Quaker values. That is, unless George Fox actually did write about the evils of womens basketball?

But seriously, most people who accuse Sidwell of being hypocrites to their Quaker values probably don’t personally know any Quakers or know much of anything about Quaker history. Quakers have always been known for being wealthy. It’s the natural consequence of hard work, restraint and humility.

Restraint is probably the Quaker value that I would recommend some people to focus on.
