If the government recognized natural immunity and were truthful about the "risk" to certain populations, we would have more trust in what the government says.

Big Pharma doesn’t make money on your natural immunity that your body made when you survived covid (like 99.015% of the unvaccinated people who got it). Ergo, no campaign contributions back-feeding to politicians.

Yes, the vaccines ensure your case of covid will be milder, will keep you out of the hospital, and will keep you from dying. But it’s absurd to suggest that the vaccine builds any better immunity to a viral disease that your own body doesn’t build by *getting* said disease and surviving it. The problem is, some people don’t survive it. And some more have lasting effects. The vaccine is good for eliminating that -but that’s all. You’re still going to get it.

But counting people who’ve had covid and recovered as “unvaccinated” because they haven’t gotten a vaccine that for them is redundant, is science denial.

Refusing vaccines gets *yourself* killed - if you are very unlucky. Most won't die. Maybe they get sick but that's it. Death is highly correlated with age and health conditions.

But more to the point, if YOU are vaccinated, then why do you care if someone else isn't vaccinated? It's their life, not yours? The vaccinates *don't* stop the spread of COVID. Nor do they stop you from getting COVID. We see this especially with OMICRON.

It's quite telling that all this shrieking of authoritarian fascist Trumpers whatever ignore the authoritarian fascism hidden in vaccinate mandates and lockdowns and censorship and refusing to cover dissenting or contrasting viewpoints and refusing to acknowledge that maybe you weren't right but instead doubling down and cheering the use of the power of the state to order private industries what to do. That's authoritarianism. That's what fascists do. Not people protesting in convoys in ostensibly a liberal democracy. A liberal democracy does not make it illegal for people to protest - which is one of the Canadian provinces just did. It's what fascists do. It was started by truckers opposed to the vaccination mandate. It is no longer just about the vaccines. It is about Canadians being locked down for 2 years.

I don't think you understood what I was saying. Many have lost their jobs in Canada because of lockdowns. Not truckers. Regular, non-trucker Canadians. Many work in the hospitality sector. A friend of mine that ran a cafeteria in the huge office was packing her mayo, plates, etc last week, BCS this is yet another lockdown that has forced her to stop working. Nobody is in the building and she has nobody to even buy take out. She was crying as she has kids and saying she must use these last supplies to feed her kids.
She said, she can't survive this lockdown.
In the summer Canadian gov has decided to stop the covid payments to people that are forced to stay at home, as the place was opening. However, I read that one woman is back to work at the movie theater, but only 10 hours per week, as opposed to over 40 hours she used to work. She can't live off of 10 hours per week, no?
The crowds are coming from all sides, in minivans, small cars, it might have started with the truckers, but now farmers are joining.
