This. Youngkin is going to kill all of the political progress made in Virginia that made businesses want to locate there and people want to live there.
+1, from a Virginian. None of this is surprising from Youngkin, but the people who voted for him will try to pretend that being mad about schools somehow excuses their vote.
Yup. This is 100% on them. Youngkin admitted before the election that he was going to push anti-choice.
Next time rein in your SJWs if you want my vote. Calling me an idiot does not make me feel welcome either. Also recognize that your top issue may not be my top issue. Your doomsday scenario with Youngkin is laughable. Larry Hogan next door runs a deep blue state.
Instead of scaremongering and shaming, do an introspection and come back and earn my vote.
“Earn your vote”? You really need anonymous posters to convince you?
Most adults are capable of evaluating candidates on their own. Weird that you rely on strangers to form your opinion.
Anyway, if you voted for Youngkin you voted for everything that comes with him. Including misogyny. That’s on you.
Your bravado is fueled by your own anonymity. Talk about the pot calling the kettle black.
The Democrats treated me and my issues as roadkill when they raced through with their one shot agenda. There was no space for anyone who saw it differently from the extreme left wingers that have hijacked policy making in the party. But with supercilious boosters like you trying to shame me for my vote, my one-off vote may not be one-off. Yes, my vote is earned by whoever gets it. And I hope yours is earned as well. Or else our democracy is in trouble.
No one filled out your ballot but you. Stop blaming others for your actions.
Own it.
Where do you see me apologizing for my ballot. I am proud of my vote and the outcome. And despite the fear-monger it I don’t worry that all hell will break loose with Youngkin. I am pro-choice and favor gun control but the Democratic Party is not listening. Enough said.

Well done.
+1. If you vote in favor of government forcing women to be incubators for unwanted and non-viable children and the country being awash in guns so that our kids get gunned down in school at stratospherically higher rates than in virtually every other country, then you do support those policies. Your *feelings* about them are irrelevant. You have *acted* in favor of them.
I am done talking. If you want to prevail then you have to LISTEN. It’s communications 101. And not just to your echo chamber.
And you cannot shame people into agreeing with you. Also communications 101.
Extremists on either side control the narrative but we in the middle control who is in charge. Let that sink in. And step off your self-righteous pedestal and acknowledge our power. And what you have to do to earn our support. Ranting does not help.
What makes you think you are "in the middle"? Simply believing that you are? Extremists typically don't regard themselves as such.
Because I exercise a considered choice election. I don’t just bleat in unison with rest of the flock.
You will be bleating when you have to drive your daughter to DC or MD to get a legal abortion.
You must be such a dedicated soldier to your cause if you treat your signature issue with such callousness.

Extremists on the left want voting for all who can do so legally, want universal healthcare and want to make it so mentally ill people cannot posess guns legally. Extremists on the right want an authoritarian ethno-Christian white nationalist country.
The two are not the same.
I will give you that.
But Youngkin is not Desantis. He could be Hogan. And I will take a Hogan any day over Bernie/AOC an their ilk.
All this angst about Youngkin threatening abortion rights is much ado about nothing. Youngkin/Miyares are making the right noises to please their base on the right.
And yes Canada is still awaiting all those who had said they would move when Trump got elected. All those emigrating from Virginia can cut a deal with them Canadians. Au Revoir!

Fair enough. Dems need to choose candidates that can win. Period. That process worked in the presidential race and the nominee that was chosen was chosen almost exclusively because he could get the votes he needed where he needed them. Local races need a similar strategy.

Because I exercise a considered choice election. I don’t just bleat in unison with rest of the flock.
Why do you believe it is others' responsibility to listen but not yours? You are not remotely "in the middle" based on your statements here, you are not interested in having a conversation about policy, and you are not open to others' viewpoints - you simply want to view yourself as a victim of whatever issue de jour you've decided represents Democrats wronging you.
I don’t see myself as a victim at all. No idea why you see it that way. I felt wronged and I exercised my vote as a consequence. There are no victims in a functioning democracy. Trump should accept it when the voters have spoken. So should you. Instead of castigating those that voted for Youngkin, focus your energies on getting the independents back in the tent. This thread is proof that you are not there yet. And perhaps never will be.
Far more Americans vote for Democrats than Republicans. This means that Democrats do represent the center. Again, your feelings about this are irrelevant. Facts are facts.
I don’t care about the relevance of my feelings. My vote is relevant and it was relevant in the last election.
“Facts are facts” - care to cite a source for “ This means that Democrats do represent the center.”?
