Wish they would go ahead and legalize weed, create a legal distribution system and tax it. Put the weed dealers out of business, and then crack down on the heroin dealers.

Sorry but DC is not a good example because its laws got broken by Congress before they could be fully implemented. You can't exactly walk into a store and buy edibles in DC.
Most of the people I know in places like Colorado and elsewhere that it's fully legalized either go for edibles (no smell) or can purchase good quality weed that doesn't smell like it was smuggled in a sweaty migrant's underwear and then stored under dead skunk carcasses for 2 years.
You can very easily both walk into a store or get delivery of edibles to your home or a neutral location. You don’t seem to know a lot about what you are talking about.
You can't directly buy it. More like you buy some other overpriced item of no value and they give you a "free gift" with your purchase. It's a very broken system thanks to Congress.
You clearly don’t live here. Why are you posting?
What are YOU talking about and why are YOU posting?
Recreational marijuana CAN NOT LEGALLY BE sold or purchased in DC.
"Recreational is legal in Washington, DC, however, the sale of marijuana for recreational purposes remains illegal. It is only legal for adults 21 and over to possess and grow marijuana and to transfer without sale up to one oz. of flower to another adult. Medical marijuana is also legal and there are seven medical dispensaries in Washington, DC which medical patients can access with a licensed medical card. "

Are you an idiot? You can procure weed and edibles through several bricks and mortar stores and delivery services that advertise. Actual weed users that live in the area have zero problem legally procuring weed and edibles. You don’t live here and it shows.
Since the PPP lives out of town. This article can help them to understand how easy it is to procure recreational weed in DC.

You've missed the point yet again. Your own article only reinforces yet again that it's fuzzy and just because stores and delivery services do it doesn't mean it's 100% legal. The article clearly highlights the "gifting" nature of how marijuana transactions happen, along with lax enforcement.

And now most of NOVA stinks during high school lunch hour, and every weekend. Plus the people doing 45mph on the beltway are getting to be a serous nuisance.
Don’t make the same mistake, MD!
COMPLETELY AGREE!!! NEVER LEGALIZE POT IN MARYLAND. IT WILL DISTROY OUR WAY OF LIFE! I hate going to NYC now because, not only does it wreak of urine and trash, now it also wreaks of pot. I will vote against its legalization.
Yeah if given the opportunity I will vote against marijuana legalization
I’m in the same boat. In favor of decriminalization but not in favor of full legalization.
