1. Men, at what age do you think it's socially acceptable for a man to allow his hair to become gray?

2. Men, at what age do you think it's strange for a man NOT to wear his hair gray?

I made a conscious decision to embrace my natural hair when I chose not to conform to the racist, misogynistic "requirement" to get relaxers. I continue to embrace my natural hair as it transitions to gray, which started in my 20s. I'm 40 now, and I think I look great being half gray. There's something very elegant and powerful about a self-assured black woman who rocks what nature intended with confidence.

Free your mind and the hair will follow.

The time required to maintain a multi process color is not enjoyable to me and I don’t want to transition at a later point. I am letting it come in and once I am 50% gray, I’ll lean in and highlight to accentuate and even out the gray. I have thick, wavy, long hair - shampoo commercial hair.

I plan to spend my time / money keeping my face looking young and rocking my gray hair.

Growing up my mom always had long, all white hair, styled well. It was a distinct and striking look. She was 100% gray by 30.

This won't look as good as you think.

+1. I look like I’m balding when I let the silver hairs grow in. I might go lighter but never gray.

My MIL stopped coloring her hair and looked 10 years older instantly.

This post is ridiculous.

I saw some ads for the new show Severance. Patricia Arquette is in it and has silver/gray hair It's awesome and really works for her I think. Maybe because she has blue eyes. I'm not all gray yet, but I love her hair!

I’ve had gray streaks since I was in my early 20s - so now at 40 I’ve been coloring for almost 2 decades. I don’t see many women at my workplace with gray hair so I plan to continue. My mother and MIL are both in their late 70s and color regularly, although a lighter and redder shade than their natural color. They both look very pale and sallow with gray hair so I don’t see them stopping anytime soon.

Do whatever works for you OP. Social norms are changing on this, be comfortable with yourself!

I'm gray/white. Yes,, it is aging--but not as aging as dying it to the original color. My hair was extremely dark brown in an earlier life. I am a senior citizen. I say do whatever you like, but, if you color, go a little lighter. Black dyed hair does not work.
