The BOE and Central Office staff need to pitch in and substitute and drive buses!! One of the VA school systems pulled it’s central office staff to cover classes. This should happen here. This is an emergency, not appropriate to work remotely if you are calling students and teachers to be in-person. All hands on deck!

Why wouldn't they? We're at the height of a new surge during a deadly pandemic. Makes sense.

The Board has used COVID as an excuse to deny public viewing and participation at Board meetings.

Wow! What a great idea. Imagine if Board members actually stepped foot into school buildings right now. What if they actually had to try teaching a class or at a minimum, babysit the class for the day. Can you imagine the perspective that would provide?

If you want teachers in the classroom being exposed to Covid from 30+ kids a period, then you can sit in your office and type away. Leadership runs from the top.

Data shows that VL negatively impacted kids. Many teachers struggled with VL themselves. Other states and countries are still doing in person school.

Teaching and children learning is not the same as adults working remotely. There are some jobs that cannot be done remotely. Your grocery store workers are still going into work so that you can get your groceries and don't starve.

IMO, teachers are essential for education for K-12. It's different if the students are adults.

Then how are there virtual academies for kids K-12 all over the world? So weird.

DP, and maybe because there are parents out there who prefer them for all kinds of reasons? They may or may not have their kids’ best interests in mind when choosing them, too.

Who exactly do you think is working in hospitals, or at your dentist’s office or at your pediatrician’s office?? There are plenty of us on here and we most definitely have been working in person.

Millions of people in this country have been back at work in person. Teachers should be also, as they have since Sept.

If you want to shut us all down? I guess you could advocate for that. But don’t come crying to me when your dentist is unavailable to fix your cracked tooth.

I’m this PP. YES! I have been working in person since last July. Before vaccines were available. I’m in healthcare FFS.

Foolishness. A dentist can’t work from home because he/she requires to be using tools etc.

An elementary school teacher can’t work from home because he/she requires manipulatives for Math.

A high school science teacher can’t work from home because he/she requires lab equipment - beakers, pipettes, bunson burners.
